UMC Conference Center awarded LEED Gold Certification

We are proud to report that the UMC Conference Center project in Huntersville, NC was awarded LEED Gold Certification.

The UMC Conference Center is only the second LEEDv4 Interiors project to get gold certification in North Carolina and is the first project to get this rating in the greater Charlotte area. LEED buildings are designed and constructed so that the environment and future occupant’s health are top priority. With the UMC project, just a couple examples of how this was accomplished are the solar panels on the roof as an energy source and meeting low emitting thresholds so no harmful off-gassing occurs to building occupants. Congratulations to the entire project team on this accomplishment in sustainable building. Myers & Chapman was the GC for this project and the Architect was WGM Design. EcoImpact handled the overall LEED coordination for the project.
