Derek Carpenter
Vice President
A 32-year construction industry veteran, Derek joined Myers & Chapman in 2003 serving in roles of increasing responsibility over the past 21 years with the company. In his current leadership role, he oversees the technical side of our pre-construction services.
A resident of greater Charlotte area since 1993, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Construction Science and Management from Clemson University and a Masters of Business Administration from the McColl School of Business at Queens University. Derek holds a NC General Contractor License.
In the community, he has been involved in the local board of the American Lung Association, a member of the Waxhaw-Weddington Rotary Club, a volunteer at Union Academy, a charter school, and a volunteer at the Humane Society of Union County. He enjoys swimming, running, reading and home improvement projects. Derek and his wife, Kari, live in Wesley Chapel with their three children Hayden, Claire and Ellory.
