Community Outreach: ACE Mentoring Program

Assistant Project Manager & BIM Specialist, Marshall Costner has been with Myers & Chapman since 2012. During his time at Myers & Chapman, he has exuded a passion for finding creative solutions for any client and a general love for engineering. In addition, to working full-time, Costner has been volunteering with the Charlotte ACE Chapter for the last five years. Interestingly, three years ago, Costner helped establish the East Meck site. Currently, Costner is a Co-Leader at East Meck High School. When asked about his experience with the ACE Program, Costner had this to say, “Through my experiences with ACE, I have had many opportunities to mentor young adults, whom have a natural curiosity about life and a desire to learn more about the Architectural, Construction, or Engineering community.  My fellow mentors and I, help students with many different life skills, including, but not limited to, public speaking, teamwork, community, and leadership.  I have been fortunate enough to be able to foster these curiosities and help the students grow as they move on to college to further their education.  I would be naive to believe that the students have not taught me as much, or more about leadership, communication, and life in general.”

Currently, the ACE program is one of the industry’s fastest-growing high school mentoring programs.
