November 2009-Myers & Chapman Wins Green Renovation Project of 2009

Myers & Chapman won the Mecklenburg County Green Renovation project of the Year 2009 for their office renovation.  The 10,000 suqare foot office was also LEED-CI Gold as awarded by the US Green Building Council.  As part of the office renovation effort, 34 tons of construction waste (or 83% of the total waste) was diverted from the landfill and many of the materials used included large amounts of recycled materials.  In addition, high efficient lighting and HVAC systems were installed that are projected to save 40% on electric costs.  Low flow toilets and faucets were also installed and they are projected to save in excess of 50% of the anticipated water usage.
